Pacific Rivers is part of the North Coast Forest Coalition to ensure Oregon’s state forests are managed in a way that balances timber, clean water, healthy rivers, and outdoor recreation.
North Coast Forest Coalition goals:
- Making sure Oregon does not sell state forests to private owners because public lands should stay in public hands.
- Ensuring that logging in state forests does not compromise other values including clean water, healthy rivers, and recreation such as hiking, camping, fishing, and biking.
- Many of these forests are within a day trip from the Portland Metro Area and provide valuable opportunities for millions of people to experience nature – contributing to the health of Oregonians and to the state’s growing outdoor recreation economy.
