- Baby coho in a shallow stream
- Preventing the Resurrection of WOPR
- Members of the timber industry are seeking to resurrect WOPR, despite the fact that the Obama administration withdrew the plan as legally indefensible. PRC moved to intervene in this case to ensure that the aquatic protections of the Northwest Forest Plan remain in place on BLM forests in Western Oregon.
- Protecting Native Fish and Amphibians from Fish Stocking in California
- PRC is seeking to protect native fish and amphibians in California from Department of Fish and Game's Fish Stocking Program. Through our lawsuit, the agency has been required to prepare an Environmental Impact Report under CEQA. This report will be critical in the next step towards limiting the harmful impacts of the program.
- Protecting Bull Trout from Rock Creek Mine
- PRC brought this lawsuit under the Endangered Species Act to ensure that the Rock Creek Mine in Montana will not jeopardize bull trout and that any adverse impacts will be avoided or mitigated.
- ESA listings for 16 Salmon Stocks Protected
- We sought to ensure that sensitive salmon stocks retained essential ESA protections and that these protections are not reduced on the basis of abundant hatchery fish. Protection of sensitive species through listing under the Endangered Species Act is an essential ingredient in most conservation strategies. Threatened populations of salmon, steelhead and trout would likely go extinct without ESA protection.
- Protecting Sierra Nevada’s Fragile Watersheds
- For many years the Pacific Rivers Council has worked diligently with the Forest Service, independent scientists, and fellow conservationists to ensure that watersheds in the Sierra Nevada are managed in an ecologically sound manner.
