Public Policy

Since 1987, the Pacific Rivers Council has been dedicated to protecting the Northwest's free-flowing rivers, and has grown into a national leader in river conservation. From our grassroots origins, we spent years lobbying for increased protection, and now litigate a wide variety of cases, including the defense of the Endangered Species Act, the Northwest Forest Plan and the National Forest Management Act, to name a few. The basis for PRC's success has been the experience and expertise of our policy analysts, backed by the sound science our conservation team provides.

Since 1987, the Pacific Rivers Council has been dedicated to protecting the Northwest's free-flowing rivers, and has grown into a national leader in river conservation. From our grassroots origins, we spent years lobbying for increased protection, and now litigate a wide variety of cases, including the defense of the Endangered Species Act, the Northwest Forest Plan and other important environmental laws. The basis for PRC's success has been the experience and expertise of our policy analysts, backed by the sound science our conservation team provides.

PRC has a long history of bringing issues into the public eye. Check out our Press Releases for updated articles and to find out how we are keeping conservation issues in the news.
