The Northwest used to be home to the greatest salmon runs in the world: The Columbia-Snake River System. Snake River salmon migrate farther and higher than any salmon on the planet, through eight dams and inland to their high-elevation mountain homes in eastern Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to restore wild salmon in the Pacific Northwest’s Columbia and Snake Rivers, once the greatest salmon rivers in the world. We can do this by removing four outdated and expensive dams on the lower Snake River. But we need your help.
In December, we there are multiple opportunities to speak up for our iconic fish and start us on the path to bringing them back from the brink of extinction.

The momentum from successful dam removal projects on the Elwha and White Salmon rivers has highlighted opportunities for more river restorations, specifically on the lower Snake River in eastern Washington. Removing four dams on the Lower Snake will restore a river and its endangered wild salmon, reconnect communities and breathe new life into communities along the lower Snake River and its tributaries.
Please join us to speak up for wild salmon, clean water and healthy communities! Refreshments provided at both events. Take action to win great prizes. Share your salmon story.
If you cannot attend one of the meetings (or even if you can!), you can also submit a comment to the agencies in charge of coming up with a dam operations plan that does not cause our salmon to go extinct.
